To start our engagement with a bang, here are some guidelines and references to keep in mind:


Be on time and be ready to kick ass at every session.

If you don’t use it, you lose it! Any meetings to be rescheduled need to be done at least 48 hours before. For some of you, this will be a huge challenge and that is excellent! This is a key part of the journey in getting you to be proactive about your schedule instead of at the effect of it.


If you do the work, our engagement will go faster and so will your results!

If you don’t do the work, we will do the work during the session – I am committed to your results one way or the other. It can mean the difference between completing a system in your business in 1 – 2 sessions versus 4.

Communication Between Sessions

Use your BaseCamp and let me know what’s going on.

Let me know during the week if you have questions, concerns or challenges with the deliverables, so I can help.

Also, please know that if your work means I have to do analysis or if you have questions – please, don’t wait till the last minute. If you do, we won’t have everything we need for our session and I don’t have a warehouse of magic elves to speed up the process (…not yet, shhhh!).

Also, if at any point you decide you want to kill an employee, strangle a client or any other common entrepreneurial inner conflict — use a life line and call me.


Expect to have resistance during the engagement and know that I am your biggest champion. Questions will arise for you as:

“Why am I doing this?”

“I already know this”

“Why are we doing it this way”

“I already gave this info to my accountant/marketer/insert 3rd party here”

“I don’t want to do homework – no one tells me what to do that’s why I started a business”

“I already tried this – It didn’t work”

“Weeeeell, what I have is good enough”

“We have a special way of doing things, I don’t think this is going to work for us”

At this point, I will ask you to embrace the madness and submit to the process that 100’s of other clients have broken through to get results. I promise you are in good hands and there is always an AHA moment around the corner.

Remember: We are not after perfection. Gaasp! –  systems are not meant to be perfect. They are meant to be iterative.

We are about setting goals, trying stuff out (testing), implementing and tweaking for optimized and efficient results to help you run your business without you.

This will be our roadmap for the engagement. It contains a framework of modules for us to work on. In trello, the cards include:

  • descriptions and links – so you don’t have to search through your documents as we will create a lot of assets for your business
  • action items – so you can click off what you are doing and get that sense of completion
  • comments – so you can ask for guidance if have gone down the rabbit hole or found a better way of doing something; we can communicate during the week
